Shannon + Geoff / Vintage Toronto City Hall Wedding
Merry Wedding Season to us all! Things go from 0 to 100 real quick in the life of a wedding photographer around this time. And of all the things I have yet to blog, the first post of 2019 will be dedicated to my first wedding of the year, which happens to be that of my cousin Shannon. The best thing about shooting this wedding was that I also attended it, and all the guests were members of my own family. Actually, scratch that. The best thing about this wedding was the vintage velvet coat.
Shannon and Geoff have been together since attending University several years ago in Manitoba, where they were both born and raised, and where they met. Shannon is a classically trained and very talented musician who moved to Toronto a few years ago to pursue music. First, totally on her own like a freaking badass, and then a few months later Geoff followed. If I were to describe their relationship in one way, I’d just say these two fit together like puzzle pieces. They’ve created a little life in Cabbagetown (with their cat Chester) and it warms my heart that we’ve been able to grow so much closer now that we’re in the same province.
On this brisk Spring morning in May, the couple got ready at their apartment in Toronto and took a cab to city hall. There was a short and sweet ceremony with our immediate family, followed by lunch at the Drake 150. It was personal, intimate, and SO them. I also don’t think I’ve stopped gushing about Shannon’s outfit for a whole month. I felt so honoured so both capture and attend this day. Enjoy xx
