Prince Edward County Wedding / N + C

Natalie + Conor’s wedding can only be described as colourful and joyful. Every aspect of it from beginning to end was truly a pleasure. The only thing is knowing that there are two people THIS gorgeous and THIS kind that are out existing in the world as just everyday regular people. I still can’t understand how they aren’t famous.

I made the drive up to Prince Edward County the night before the wedding so ensure there would be no issues coming from the Toronto the morning of. We heard there was some inclement weather back west, but we had perfect summer temperatures all day. The couple got ready together with their wedding parties in one AirBnb, separate units, which made it so easy for myself and my second shooter to bounce around and really immerse ourselves in the morning. One major component that makes photographing the morning of a wedding a breeze, is choosing the right location. In a perfect world we’d all get ready in an idyllic old farmhouse, but really all that’s necessary is a spot that is clean, bright, and organised. And they nailed it!

The first look took place in front of a shed that we *thought* was in the backyard of the Bnb…turns out it was actually the neighbour’s property. But the sweet man that he was, he excitedly allowed us to take photos in front of it. He also offered us his front porch as he was heading out for the day, which then became the backdrop for these gorgeous wedding party photos.

Once we all arrived at the Meadows property, the couple, wedding party and their families all joined in for some heartfelt exchanged words and a toast. The ceremony was much of the same, a few tears and wonderfully written vows (Natalie is a teacher after all). Hozier’s voice provided the soundtrack to their marriage license signing, a nod to both their obviously good taste in music, as well as Conor’s homeland of Ireland.

Because N + C completed so many of their photos beforehand, all they wanted to do next was ENJOY their cocktail hour. The Meadows grounds are an absolutely perfect spot to do so, space for everyone to lounge, and they even had a pop-up ice cream stand. From this point on the reception kicked up with even more speeches (half of which were spoken with Irish accents, making them even more captivating) and so, so much love. Special shout out to Natalie’s sweet little Trinidadian grandmother who absolutely made sure she enjoyed the dance floor portion of the evening and had as all grinning ear to ear.
