Garden Party Orchard Wedding
Megan and Jeremy’s perfect august apple orchard wedding, complete with popsicles, mariachis, tacos, and a whole lot of fun.
The couple got ready together at Cruikston park, one of the most beautiful property rentals for anyone getting married in the Cambridge/Hamilton area. Every square inch of these properties has had an immense amount of thought and taste infused into them. They got ready with many of their closest friends, as sort of an “unofficial” wedding party. I especially adored the fact that they technically got ready under the same roof, passing by each other throughout the morning, but ultimately left their “first look” until the aisle. A very precious way to meet in the middle between tradition and intuition.
Brantview Cider was decorated in the most colourful floral fashion by The Local Flower Collective, including the sunny ceremony space out amongst the apple orchards. After an emotional ceremony officiated by the bride’s brother, the couple was played off for their recessional by the hired mariachi band - a nod to Megan’s Mexican heritage.
For their cocktail hour and ceremony, the couple had a popsicle stand (which was perfect because the weather was TOASTY), sentimental family touches, and table numbers inspired by their favourite horror movies. The MC’s had the whole audience cracking up and carried us through a beautiful evening of speeches. Post reception, the guests were greeted by a taco truck for their late-night dancing fuel, which you better believe I was thrilled to take part in on my drive home. Two of the warmest funniest humans, with a day to match.
