Akash + Tarjani / Elegant Cambridge Butterfly Elopement
The most intimate of intimate Covid weddings, A + T had only their parents and Akash’s sister in attendance for their December ceremony. It took place at 8am (a time I have never photographed a ceremony for, but it was undoubtedly worth it). We used the few minutes before the ceremony to do their first look, and take some breathtaking portraits outside the Butterfly Conservatory. The mist and fog of the crisp winter morning mixed with the warm rising light, created one of the most beautiful photo sets I’ve shot, and one I know that would be difficult to re-create on purpose. Their ceremony was sweet, and topped off with a release of butterflies, as is customary for the Conservatory. It turns out, Tarjani’s floral crown was an excellent choice and the butterflies’ favourite resting place. By 9-ish, the sun had fully risen and we captured family portraits under the new, very cool, arch, followed by some more romantic portraits. So thankful these two hired me to capture such a magic morning for them!
