Eric + Geneva / Floral Hamilton Backyard Wedding
Eric + Geneva. Another favourite backyard wedding for the BOOKS. Aka, another reason why I like to make that extremely bold statement about how amazing all backyard weddings are.
The couple got ready at their respective parents’ houses, with Eric’s being the venue for the rest of the day’s festivities. Geneva’s details photographed so beautifully within the old charm of her parent’s home, and how CUTE was that coordinated bridesmaid athleisure moment? Such a fantastic idea to incorporate for your girls. And while I wasn’t with the boys in the morning, I could tell from my associate Cass’ photos that the guys getting ready was such a riot. I feel like you can hear the laughter through these photos.
After a precious first look in the garden, we loaded up the wedding party to head to our main photo location with only one major problem: TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR. The sun had been shining beautifully all morning, and right when it counted - Mother Nature turned on us. The also pandemic added some difficulty being that we couldn’t just walk into other establishments as a backup, but long story short, we pulled it together. We waited out some rain at a local brewery and by some sort of miracle, the sun shone (shined? idk, it was sunny) for the rest of the day. Their florals stayed in tact and everything was lush and vibrant green. Sigh of relief all around.
The rest of the day went off without a hitch; friends and family drinking, eating, and dancing all in one place. We snuck out of the tent and walked, like, 3 feet for a few more photos as the sun went down, and then the party really kicked off. Special shoutout to the groomsman we convinced to jump in the pool before we could leave. If there is a pool is at a wedding, you better believe I’m getting evidence of someone jumping in.
Thank you E + G, for being such troopers during an environmental crisis and trusting my vision <3
