Vibrant Park Hyatt + Boehmer Wedding

Howie + Caroline had the most colourful, warm (literally and figuratively) wedding this past July at the Park Hyatt and Boehmer on Ossington. Caroline is likely the most organised bride I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing, right down to her Canva document that gave me everything I needed to know to understand their vision - it was a work of art. Along with Caroline, their planner Karina helped ensure every aspect was executed flawlessly.

The day began at the Park Hyatt hotel, one of the coolest venues in Toronto. Caroline got ready with a few friends, in a relaxing atmosphere, with, of course, Mcdonalds. The couples first look began on the geometric and visually stunned arched staircases - an artsy twist to a first look. We then galavanted down various nooks of the hotel before their legal official arrived to sign the official marriage papers. After that we departed to their venue at Boehmer on Ossington, a chic restaurant nestled in the happening neighbourhood of Queen West/Ossington strip. One of the touches that brought both much-needed privacy and beauty, was the sheer drawn curtains the couple put up which created the dreamiest ceremony lighting.

Flora and Flux absolutely nailed the peachy, 70’s pink colour scheme. The cocktail hour minglers got to enjoy an array of cocktails (the owner told me, the most they had done for a wedding, I counted at least 6 different ones - a couple after my own heart), and live oyster shucking (again, I’m in). I took the couple for a few outdoor street photos before their grand entrance now that the heat had died down, July heatwave weddings are no joke. They reentered with sparklers and went straight into their Kwento cake cutting.

Delicious food was followed by speeches, a sparkler exit on the street, and a dance party kicked off the ever talented and charismatic Marc Joseph band. Every time I walk by this restaurant on my neighbourhood walks, I remember this day and smile.
