Catherine + Jason / Summer Dusk Toronto Engagement
Catherine and Jason have been together as long as I’ve known them. Which is a sentence that doesn’t make much sense unless you know that I met them in 2011, at York University. Catherine, at freshman orientation, and Jason, in one of my English classes that I won’t dare try to remember. Time is a real bitch isn’t it? Weren’t we JUST babies thriving on Second Cup coffee, greasy cafeteria breakfasts, and sugar-free red bull? Wasn’t it just yesterday we were racing to lecture halls before realizing we forgot our laptop chargers, and spending hundreds of dollars on textbooks we’d never read again?
Anyway, that was then, this is now. These love birds have been together over a decade and that is absolutely precious. I’m so glad Catherine and I have had an invisible tie to each other ever since, even though I only attended York for one year (I broke up with it in search of better things at U of Guelph - less crime).
These two wanted to begin their session at the apartment they made home, with all personal touches and bits of memorabilia that were special to them. Afterwards we trekked to a little trail nearby just as the sun was setting, and though we weren’t fast enough to catch the golden hour, the moody duskiness was just as good. I’m thankful these balls of sunshine trusted me with their vision and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this summer (pandemic-depending). <3
